Smart and Skilled is a NSW Government program that helps people get training in in-demand skills and industries. It’s a key part of the NSW vocational education and training (VET) system.
The Smart and Skilled program provides eligible individuals (who are living or working in NSW) with an opportunity to complete qualifications subsidised by the New South Wales Government. Smart and Skilled is grouped into two programs – Smart and Skilled Entitlement and Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities.
Smart and Skilled gives eligible students:
-Smart and Skilled Entitlement includes qualifications ranging from Certificate I through to Certificate III.
-Smart and Skilled Targeted Priorities program includes full qualifications, including Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels.
SUBSIDISED TRAINING
This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. The course fee is determined by the NSW provider calculator; please get in touch with an Evolution Hospitality Institute representative to obtain a quote.
Through the Smart and Skilled Entitlement program, eligible participants can undertake nationally accredited training; this training is subsidised by the NSW Government.
For courses contribution, please refer to the table. Fees and concessions may apply based on your individual circumstances. The remainder of the course fees are subsidised under the Smart and Skilled program, where this training is subsidised by the NSW Government, refer to the Smart and Skilled website.

* Previous qualifications do not affect eligibility but may impact students’ fee contributions. Students who participated in VET in school or other smart and skilled programs will pay a higher fee for their smart and skilled training than individuals who do not have any previous vocational training enrolments. Students’ individual circumstances are considered, and a final quotation is required to determine student fees payable for their enrolment.

Enrolment is a simple three-step process:
STEP 1: Complete the Enrolment form. Click Here
The first step is to complete an enrolment form which provides Evolution with the necessary information about you and obtains your consent for us to undertake the department’s “Notification of Enrolment Process.”
STEP 2: Notification of Enrolment
Once we receive an enrolment form and your consent*, we start the Notification of Enrolment Process with the Department to inform them that you wish to access funding and to determine your eligibility and entitlements. This includes:
*Note: if you do not provide consent, we cannot proceed with the Notification of Enrolment Process.
STEP 3: Training Plan
Once the Notification of Enrolment Process is complete, we will:
Work with you to create a Training Plan and timetable to accommodate your academic program.
*Note: If you do not commence on this date, your Commitment ID must be cancelled, and we will need to go through the Notification of Enrolment Process again to create a new Commitment ID for the new start date.
